The Oyster Bay "Baymen" Wrestling Team captured its first ever Dual Meet Championship Tournament in the school's history. The Baymen won the 2009 Nassau County Invitational Championship Tournament by defeating Jericho High School.
Entered in a 20- team tournament, the Oyster Bay grapplers defeated West Hempstead High School 57 - 12; Valley Stream South High School 45 - 19; Wheatley High School 37 - 23; and Jericho High School 36 - 36 (OB 7 - Jericho 6 in bouts) in the finals.
A great team effort brought the Baymen to the championship match. In the title match against Jericho, Jack Leguelaff, Rob Morgan and Alex LoRusso each had to pin their opponents to win the championship.

The Baymen are coached by; Jay Davis, Doug Axman and Kyle Simensky.
The next round of Nassau County competition will be the State qualifiers held on Friday, Feb. 21 in Mineola and Saturday, Feb. 22 at Hofstra University. The State championships will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 in Albany.
