Because of the early deadlines this holiday season, the answer to the Dec. 18 mystery picture was put into the Dec. 25 issue before any calls came through!
But T. J. Amotobozo came through with the right answer and the correct location! He said, "This one's an easy one it says it right there in the picture, the 'Oyster Bay Railroad Museum' and it's right down there on Audrey Avenue.
Billy Minicozzi said, "It's the museum opposite (what was) Carpets by Barnao."
Marie Devlin called about the mystery picture for Dec. 18, and said, "You've got a dead giveaway. You left the name of the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum right there in the picture. You've got a great paper." She added, "God bless and Merry Christmas to all!"
Belle Santora called, not to identify the mystery picture this time but to add something to the article about her Cub Scout experience. She wanted to add the names of the other den mothers. "There was Lester and Dorothy George. They had a store where Verrellis is now - they lived in the Ships Point Lane area; Mr. and Mrs. John Stevens who are deceased; and Catherine (Kitty) Sutherland (she was a widow and her son now lives upstate); and my hubby Joseph and I. We had a lot of fun with that Cub Scouting." Belle said the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center Christmas party was held on Dec. 23. "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all," she added.
Happy New Year to all and if you haven't called the mystery picture recently - call and let's chat. Here's to a wonderful and meaningful new year as we all learn more about the art of living. - DFK
