T.J. Amotobozo called to say the mystery picture in the Nov. 20 issue of the Enterprise Pilot, "is taken at Theodore Memorial Park, by the beach, and last week's picture was also taken in the park. It was the entrance by the (original) LIRR train station."
Billy Minicozzi said, "It's a man holding his daughter's hand at Roosevelt Park." On a sports note he said Mike Mussina retired from baseball after his 20-win season. Wally Mathews, sports writer for Newsday, and an Oyster Bay resident, reported the news and said Mr. Mussina took the right way, retiring with great numbers that might eventually get him into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Billy added, good luck to the Jets and Giants in the football season.
Belle Santora said, "I think the mystery picture is Roosevelt beach, with the people walking toward the beach and the boats in the background and I see the benches."
Liv Livolsi identified the mystery picture correctly as being taken at Theodore Roosevelt Park.
Gail called and said, "The mystery picture was taken down at the Theodore Roosevelt Park, facing the water and Centre Island, and last week's picture looks like it's also taken at the park but on the other side, by the train tracks." (She didn't leave her last name but we believe she lives in Bayville.) - DFK.
