The Rough Rider Troop rides in parades and festivals across Long Island. The troop appears annually at Sagamore Hill on July 4th and at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration for the Long Island Fair in September. All troopers are volunteers who ride to remind the public that "Long Island is still horse country". The Nassau-Suffolk Horsemen's Association, Inc. is a charitable 501-c 3 organization.
