T.J. Amotobozo called to say the mystery picture in the Sept. 25 issue of the Enterprise Pilot is, "The Oysterman's Dock, looking from the Commander Oil pier." [Correct!]

"I think it's the marina at Sagamore Yacht club, where you go down, where all the boats are parked," guessed Belle Santora. When she heard that was wrong, she said, "It's fun to be wrong once in a while."

Francis Bladykis called and said, "The picture on the front of the newspaper is of the Commander Oil dock and in the background it shows a little of the mystery picture." [He is correct. The two pictures were taken at the same time with a different lens on the camera.] He added, "I'm still the Oyster Bay Water Commissioner and we still have the best water." [I commented that recently I noticed a chlorine smell in the water, which is pumped to East Norwich from the Jericho Water District.] Mr. Bladykis said, "We have chlorine in our water too. The Federal government wants us all to use chlorine. But we put in a new chlorination system and the smell is even less. We are always making improvements," he said.

Paul Keller of Bayville said, "The mystery picture is taken from onshore, of the Commander Oil pier with the Frank M. Flower pier in the background. Have a great fall," he added.

Cailey Crawford, 7 years old, called to identify the mystery picture as, "The oil transfer station; Franklin Flower's and the Pine Island boat. I know this because my mother works at Frank M. Flower's", she said.

Billy Minicozzi made a good guess, that it was a boat ramp near West Shore Road. On a sports note, he said that for the first time in 50 years, the Yankees didn't make it to the playoffs. He hopes and prays the Mets will make it. Better luck next year! (as per DFK)
