The mystery picture of Aug. 21 was solved by Rhoda Crawford of Bayville. She said, "It's the soccer net in Oyster Bay. I know because I've been passing it a lot and I've seen kids playing soccer there." The net was positioned south of the parking lot and west of the baseball field.

Billy Minicozzi guessed it was the soccer net in Bayville. He was happy that the USA won the most medals in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Betty Tiska solved the Aug. 14 mystery-mystery picture. At first she thought the vessel on the left was the Unicorn. We too thought it was the Unicorn but no, we were both wrong.

She wrote, "The Aug. 14 Mystery Picture isn't the Unicorn! I was down at the Christeen dock last night, Aug. 22, and the Unicorn was docked alongside the oyster sloop. While there, I looked north and saw the Mystery Picture's moored, two-masted schooner and realized that the Aug. 14 mystery vessel is really Captain Tom Thompson's schooner Corsair.

We had seen it so many times this summer that we thought it was the Unicorn, but Gaye Verdi, executive director of the WaterFront Center informed us that the Unicorn only comes in for specific reasons and was not here all summer.
