The seventh- and eighth-grade boys Rough Rider Lacrosse team fought a tough game against an older more experienced New Hyde Park team and came out with a 6 - 6 tie. The first half was dominated by the Rough Riders with great midfield play by Blake Meyer with 2 goals and Charlie Schueler. Jesse Marksohn and Oliver Fornell also contributed a goal each. The attack led by Zach Greenspan and Hammy Wallace each scored on great feeds by Quinn McQuade, Blake Meyer and Charlie Schueler. The defense led by goalie Danny Rivas was fantastic. Michael Ferris, Andrea Flammia and Corey Palladino kept the New Hyde Park players in check. Kyle McLaughlin and Jacob Atherholt played a very aggressive game punishing any New Hyde Park players that got close to goalie Danny Rivas.

The third period was dominated by New Hyde Park, however most of their goals came in a close fourth quarter. New Hyde Park managed to tie it up with under a minute to go in the game.

The Rough Riders next game is Sunday, April 27, at noon, at the Vernon School.

The fourth-grade girl's lacrosse team came away with a huge victory over the weekend beating a very strong Rockville Centre team on April 13. The girls played tough defense thwarting off many Rockville Centre attacks. Haya Sheeline made incredible saves in goal allowing only 4 past while making 15 saves. The score was back and forth for the entire game until one minute left in the game when Shelby Cook was able to break the tie with a penalty shot scoring the winning goal. Dominique Matarese and Shelby Cook both added two goals each for the Riders who went on to win 5-4.

The fourth-grade Boys Roughrider Lacrosse team had its first home game on Sunday April 13, after having had two weeks of away games. The boys demonstrated tremendous passing and stick handling skills. They remain undefeated after another win on Sunday against Seaford. It was a very physical game and the Roughriders were able to come up with the majority of ground balls and face-offs. The Roughriders dominated in the offensive zone, they were patient, and played a very tight defense. Coaches, Mike Schindler, Wayne Danenza, and Bob Howes have spent a lot of time and energy and it is evident in the style of play these boys bring to the field. Rough Riders Third Grade Boys Lacrosse - three weeks in a row, three great games! Opening Day their first game against North Shore was amazing with a winning score of 8 to 5. Week two the Rough Riders played their first away game against the Huntington (B) team and it ended with another winning score of 7 to 3. This past Sunday the boys played their third game away against the Huntington (R) team finishing with another great win and final score of 8 to 5. The boys are playing hard. Good passing, great attack and a strong defense - their team work is paying off. Congratulations boys on three wins! Patrick Wygand moved the ball well at both ends of the field and fought hard along with Aidan Danenza to win groundballs and Luke Puccio playing heads up midfield and attack positions. Brody Phelan and Brad Beck combined for scores, Eli Feder and Terrance Cameron and John Dafeo stepped up as strong midfielders. The team looked good in its first debut on a misty night in Bayville under the lights on Friday making passes and ball control its priority. First string goal tender Jack Weiboldt stopped 6 shots on goal and tough defense was handled by Jake Bissonnette, Manny Defreitas and Leonardo Mangano. Head coach Pat Wygand, assistant Rick Puccio and goal coach Rob Bissonnette could not have hoped for more from this hustling second grade-team.
