Billy Minicozzi correctly identified the mystery picture in the April 24 issue of the Enterprise Pilot. "It's the guardrail on the road by Centre Island beach by the police booth," he said, adding, "Good luck to the Jets." Carlos Raymos too offered the correct identification of the area.

Gordon MacPherson guessed the photograph was West Shore Road going toward Centre Island, which is a great guess because it is why the shot was considered challenging: It was so close to the view of Beekman Beech.

We were still looking for the correct identification of the April 10 photo when we received an email from Peter Higgins. He said, "It looks like Lawrence Hill heading west overlooking CSH labs." This was fast becoming the favorite answer.

We received an interesting email from David Barclay who said, "Hmm, I'm not sure where else there is a good size hill besides Mill Hill and Capitol Heights that can see well across the water in OB, but, Mill Hill wouldn't have all the power lines and street lights, and Capitol Heights doesn't run in that direction (does it?). Is that Anstice Street facing north, looking over at Centre Island? I don't remember Centre Island being that close visually, but the pine trees in the picture remind me of those that were (are they still?) down in front of the library at the end of Anstice.

"If that's not it, well you have to tell me - I can keep a secret," he wrote.

Well, he got it more or less right through a process of elimination. It is Anstice Street and it amazing that you can see the water and Centre Island from there, using the telephoto lens on my Cannon Supershot.

Rich Reynolds of Niskayuna, NY sent an email saying, "I think the [Internet] April 11 Mystery Picture looks like the view from Lawrence Hill Road as you are heading west, down the hill, you can catch a glimpse of the some of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory buildings."

He said, "The current Mystery Picture looks like the view from Centre Island Road, along the newly restored Centre Island beach, looking westward towards Bayville."
