In the history of Wrestling at Oyster Bay High School, no one has ever won back to back Nassau County Championships. That is, of course, until now. OBHS senior Ryan Pullman has just won his second Nassau County Championship in as many years.

Ryan was a first place Champ in his junior year and came in second in his sophomore year. A very impressive run, indeed. For the second year in a row, Ryan competed in the New York State Wrestling Championships. This year the State Championships took place in Rochester, New York during the weekend of March 8 and 9.

Ryan is a stand out athlete on an exceptional OBHS Wrestling team. Five team members were selected as All County wrestlers. They are Ryan Pullman, Tom Capobianco, Chris Capobianco, and Robert Morgan.

This history making story does not end with Ryan Pullman's impressive 27 and 1 season. Robert Morgan also made history for the OBHS wrestling program. Robbie was also a first place Nassau County Champion. What distinguishes Robert Morgan's achievement is that as an eighth grade student, Robbie is the youngest wrestler in the history of OBHS to become Nassau County Champion. This adds to an already impressive legacy that Robbie has established at an age younger than most students even get the chance to wrestle at the varsity level. Last year Robert Morgan broke ground by making the Varsity squad as a seventh grade student. Not only did Robbie immediately prove that he belonged on the varsity team, but he concluded his rookie season by coming in second place in Nassau County for his weight class. With a record of 26 and 2, Robert Morgan bettered his previous year and became a first place Nassau County Champ.

Every year at the County championships, the players vote for the wrestler they feel deserves the Champion of Champions Award. This year his peers chose Robert Morgan for the Champion of Champions Award.

Congratulations to Ryan Pullman for ending his high school career on a history making note and to Robert Morgan who has four more years of promise and excitement ahead.
