Richard William Simons, longtime resident of Bayville, died on Jan. 23, 2008 at age 89. He was a retired lieutenant of NCPD and proud WWII veteran. Husband of the late Dorothy Evelyn (nee Tilford). Father of Richard T. (Dorothy) and Judith A. Ellison (Butch). Brother of the late Mary, Charles, Irving, Andrew, twin Raymond, and James. Grandfather of Edward, Stacey, Judith, Daniel, Richard, and David. Great-grandfather of five. Arrangements were made by the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment Bayville Cemetery. Joanne M. Fischetti, 64, of East Norwich, died on Jan. 26, 2008. Wife of Carmine. Mother of Marcy Duball (David), Gaye Sass (Michael) and Chris (Mary). Grandmother of Sabrina, Joanna, Francesca and Lorenzo. Daughter of Anna and Edmond Miano. Sister of Joseph Miano (Helen). Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
