On Saturday, Jan. 26, Yoga Rocks is joining in the national day of yoga awareness, "Yoga Day USA." They are opening up their studio from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a day of free yoga for new students. Why? Yoga Day USA is designed to build awareness of the amazing life and health benefits of yoga to those who are new to the practice. Have you made a resolution for 2008 to become more healthy, active and relaxed? Yoga Day USA at Yoga Rocks will help you meet your New Year's resolution this year.
Free yoga events will include adult yoga classes at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for newcomers to the studio. Kids and Family Yoga take place at noon. Yoga Rocks has teamed up with Marshall Chiropractic. There will be free mini posture consultations courtesy of Marshall Chiropractic from 10:45 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to attend this free event anytime during the day to see the studio, talk with the staff and ask questions about yoga. Current members of the Yoga Rocks will get free classes if they bring a friend that is new to yoga. Refreshments will be served.
Yoga Alliance created Yoga Day USA in 1999. The annual nationwide celebration was designed to raise awareness about yoga's benefits by offering free or low cost workshops in communities all across the country. Many events also are fundraisers for charitable organizations giving you two great reasons to participate.
Yoga Rocks is Oyster Bay's first premier yoga center and has been serving the community of Oyster Bay with top quality yoga instruction for the past three years. "Yoga Day USA is our chance to give free yoga to the community and to give those who are new to yoga a sample of our services and to answer questions on what yoga is all about," says Jeannine Smolinsky, founder and owner of Yoga Rocks. "We are committed to truly enriching the lives of the citizens of Oyster Bay."
