Opinions Differ on TR Museum
Bill Von Novak, Oyster Bay Civic Association president, said he was "caught short" with the announcement in Newsday on Friday, Sept. 21 that the Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto was in favor of a Theodore Roosevelt Museum in Firemen's Field.

Nancy Leftenant-Colon Receives Woman of Distinction Award
Nancy Leftenant-Colon has long been a hero to the members of the Oyster Bay Civic Association. On Aug. 10, Assemblyman Robert Walker presented her with a 2007 Woman of Distinction Award for dedication in serving her country. Ms. Colon is a retired member of the United States Army/Air Force Nurse Corps.

Oyster Bay-East Norwich Soccer Club News
The Oyster Bay Tornadoes played their home game against the Oceanside Express in Syosset on Sunday, Sept. 16. You may think this is a misprint, but it's not. Due to major renovations at James Vernon Middle School, the Tornadoes, as well as the 21 travel teams that the Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club fielded during the fall season, do not have a home field in Oyster Bay.

I always find it interesting to learn how people get into boating or marine related careers. Belonging to a yacht club, I am surrounded with so many interesting people from captivating maritime backgrounds. Usually our stories are told on a boat or over a cocktail at the clubhouse; yet, Alex Wolff, a local photographer, time and again captures my attention by telling a story through his photography.
