Billy Minicozzi called on Friday July 13, and wished everyone good luck. He identified the July 12 picture as a glass window near Town Hall. He wished Tiger Woods good luck in the British Open.
Billy said the District Fire Parade on Saturday, July 14, went very well. Streets were closed and the police kept traffic moving as local firemen demonstrated their readiness.
Billy also welcomed David Beckman who arrived in Los Angeles last week to play with the Galaxy hockey team.
Belle Santoro identified the July 5 mystery picture saying, "It is the corner where Café Al Dente is looking toward Oyster Babies and the Bonanza Stand across from the bandstand."
Jill Morrison also called to identify the July 5 mystery picture as being taken on Spring Street. "I lived in Oyster Bay and East Norwich for 10 years and am in Stony Brook at the moment." She recognized the Lamborghini.
Ms. Morrison was known locally as a faux painter. She worked for many local families including the Doubledays, the Graces and the MacEnroes. She worked at several Designer Showhouses doing faux painting including ones at the Bailey Arboretum and at Chelsea Mansion.
She said while looking at newspapers on the Internet she found the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot and began looking at the mystery picture and recognized one of Sagamore Hill. She thought, "I know where that is. I might as well call up too. I started getting them." She also recognized the photo of the Boys and Girls Club.
While she is not doing murals today, she had an accident five years ago - for the past 12 years she has been the WUSB music director at Stony Brook University and writes music articles for an online site in the UK. - DFK
