Four Young Oyster Bay Women Receive Girl Scout's Gold Award
The Nassau County Council of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. has awarded four young Oyster Bay women Girl Scout's Gold Award. About five percent of Girl Scouts reach Girl Scouting's highest award, the Gold Award, which has been known by other names since 1916: The Golden Eaglet of Merit (1916-1919), The Golden Eagle (1919-1938), First Class (1938-1982) and, most recently, The Curved Bar (1940-1980).

Oyster Bay Community Band Concerts
The Oyster Bay Community Band announces its 2007 Summer Concert Series. As has been the tradition since 1950, when summer lawn concerts on East Main Street in front of Oyster Bay High School were inaugurated by Donald Luckenbill, there will be free evening concerts on three successive Wednesdays in July (11, 18 and 25) at 8 p.m. The band will also be participating in Neighborhood Night at Sagamore Hill on Tuesday, July 17.
