Registration for Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 intramurals was conducted online thru the obensoccer.org web site. Registrations received after June 31, 2006 will incur a mandatory late fee. Payment will be accepted by check (in person) or credit card (on-line). Picture Day was on June 3. This year OBEN Soccer wrapped up the season with a festival celebrating our children held on June 10 with lots of music, rides, food and fun!

Travel Team Tryouts:

In order for you to try out for all established and new travel teams you must bring the following to the tryout date(s):

• "Travel Registration Application " - download from our web site

• A passport type picture (If new player or team needs to re-do picture)

• A copy of child's birth certificate (New players only)

• Tryout Fee of $50

Your son or daughter will be added to the team upon receipt of travel registration fee paid on line. If your son or daughter is not selected, all documents will be returned. OBEN Soccer Club is trained by ISA. The ISA trainers will be present at the tryouts and serve as impartial evaluators of the children. ISA trainers will also serve as the team's trainers during the season.

The following are the teams, age group requirements and tryout dates:

U-16 Boys-Titans (Boys born after July 31, 1991). Coach Doug Petersen (DouglasApetersen@aol.com) Tryout dates June 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and June 16 4:30 to 6 p.m. V3 at Vernon.

U-16 Girls-Blizzards (Girls born after July 31, 1991). Coach Randy Todd (Rtodd14@hotmail.com). June 12th - 7 to 8:30 p.m. and June 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. V3 at Vernon

U-15 Boys-Tsunami (Boys born after July 31, 1992). Coach Joe Heaney (waldenjmh@aol.com). Tryouts June 18 and 20 from 7 p.m. to to 8:30 p.m. at V3 at Vernon.

U-15 Girls-Twisters (Girls born after July 31, 1992). Coach Debbie Catacosinos (Dcata2@aol.com). Try out dates June 18 and 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at V3 at Vernon.

U-14 Boys-Raptors/Mustangs (Boys born after July 31, 1993). Coaches Tom Awad (ncatca@aol.com) and Bob Reilly (obensoccer@yahoo.com) Tryouts were on June 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and June 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Vernon School.

V: The Travel Teams Award Dinner was held on June 11 at the Crest Hollow CC. There were awards presented to all players and a Most Valuable Player per team selected by their teammates.

VI: OBEN Soccer Club/ISA Summer Camps

(Weeks of August 6 and 13)

Joseph M. Heaney III, president, Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club announced that this year OBEN Soccer Club will co-host two weeks of summer camp with our training organization ISA. As many of you may know OBEN School District will be reconstructing the entrance and parking lots at Vernon this summer and as such we will not have access to Vernon fields for the summer. The Town of Oyster Bay has made Roosevelt Beach available to the club for training purposes and we will host two summer camps at the beach - dates for the camps are August 6 thru the 10 and August 13 thru the 17. Camps will run from 9 to 3 p.m. for travel players and from 9 to 1 p.m. for intramural players. As many of you have come to understand ISA runs a demanding program and OBEN SC believes that these camps will get our players ready for the fall season. Please sign up with your travel teams or as intramural players on the attached form or download a form and send it in via our web site. "Thank you for your continued support of our club," he said to parents.
