Senator Carl Marcellino and the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce teamed up for their fourth annual Health Fair on June 2. Chamber President Alex Gallego said, "I feel that the chamber's mission of creating a hamlet that attracts tourism and business is working.

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District has made character education an integral part of the program from kindergarten right through to high school graduation. This is evident when walking the halls of Roosevelt where there are street signs promoting positive character traits like loyalty, caring, respect, honesty, fairness and responsibility.

Registration for Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 intramurals was conducted online thru the obensoccer.org web site. Registrations received after June 31, 2006 will incur a mandatory late fee. Payment will be accepted by check (in person) or credit card (on-line). Picture Day was on June 3.

For some naysayers it might be hard to see that our seaside community is a vast playground for water toys and related activities. Although we do not have a lot of commerce along the waterfront like areas such as Greenport or Port Jefferson, a huge part of our local culture and economy is still made of seaside activities.
