Local Country Clubs Honored at the Babe Zaharias Tournament Kick Off
Local golf and country clubs are starting off this year's round of The Babe Zaharias Memorial Tournaments. It is really a local story, since the tournaments started in 1972, when the women of Long Island took up the torch to fight breast cancer and began the Babe Zaharias Memorial Golf and Tennis Tournaments. Mrs. Bille Miller of the Brookville Country Club, the event's earliest chairwoman was joined by Sandy Zuckerman, club liaison chair for the Muttontown Club.
