Ten North Shore Villages Have Banded Together for Emergencies
To be fully prepared for the potential threat of pandemic flu, anthrax exposure, or even a bio-terrorist event, 10 local villages are coordinating their efforts. Part of these extensive emergency preparations include the creation of two mass emergency vaccination clinics or POD's (Points of Dispensing locations).

Town Requests Proposals for TR Carousel for the TR Park
The Town of Oyster Bay has sent out a legal notice for a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Theodore Roosevelt themed carousel in TR Park that was printed in the Friday, Jan. 26 issue of Newsday. They have also sent RFPs to seven organizations including the Oyster Bay Main Street Association that made the original proposal to put a 65' x 65' x 35' building to house a carousel in Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in an open space area near Audrey Avenue.

Rough Riders Lacrosse Victorious Over Manhasset and Garden City
The 5th/6th grade Rough Rider Indoor Lacrosse team set the pace early with a hat trick by Connor Byrne at the Saturday, Jan. 20 game. Chre Teitlebaum had a great day in goal with many difficult saves. Mike Ruane added a hat trick of his own with Sean Cerrone adding two goals as well.

Long Island Lizards Hold Clinic For Rough Rider Lacrosse Players
The Long Island Lizard professional outdoor Lacrosse team came to Oyster Bay High School to instruct the local players in the basics of the game. The clinic was open to both boys and girls from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Midfielder Tim Byrnes taught the players the proper technique for shooting while Attackman Pat Walsh instructed on ground balls and the importance of Wall Ball. This is where players from youth leagues to the pros work on their shots, catches and overall technique by taking numerous shots against a wall with both their strong and weak hands.
