Chelsea Mansion Holiday House Tours
Chelsea, the 40-room mansion located on the Muttontown Preserve and built by Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Moore, is decorated for the holidays and open for tours, now through Dec. 31. The house is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the last tour is at 4 p.m.

Good Water at a Penny a Glass
The Oyster Bay Water District held its annual election for water commissioner on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 3 to 9 p.m. There were 135 votes cast, 124 in person and 11 absentee ballots for the only candidate, Richard P. Niznik. He was appointed by the Oyster Bay Town Board last year to replace the late John DeBellis who died in January 2005. Mr. Niznik will serve a three-year term from Jan. 1, 2007 to Dec. 31, 2009.

Brennan Will Run the Point at Bentley
Locust Valley High School senior Kim Brennan signed a national letter of intent to attend Bentley College in Massachusetts on an athletic scholarship. The point guard will take her athletic prowess to the New England area, where she will play for Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens, who has amassed more victories on the division II level than any other coach in history.

Winter Run Series to Take Place at Four Long Island State Parks
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced that the Long Island State Park Region will host its 12th Annual Winter Run Series beginning in January.
