Long Island's brightest and toughest business professionals went head-to-head in the boxing ring at the fourth annual Long Island Fight For Charity held at the Long Island Hilton in Melville. A crowd of 1,200 fans attended the fundraiser to watch a dozen matches and to enjoy food and beverages donated by 20 LI restaurants that netted nearly $120,000 for charity.

Featured fighters Ed "Grizzly Spasms" Camp of Long Island Business News, a resident of East Islip, and Darren "The M&A Marauder" Martin of Kensington Company & Affiliates, a resident of Oyster Bay, met in the ring for three rounds.

"It was a win-win situation, I was able to receive some great training and experience an evening I will remember for the rest of my life. Over 1,200 people had a very entertaining time, and most important, a good sum of money was raised for some very important local charities. I was honored to be a part of it all," said Darren Martin. All of the boxers were trained by Tony Fortunato of the Power House Boxing Club located at Power House Gym in Farmingdale.

The funds raised will go to the Long Island Community Chest, which will distribute the funds to local charities including the Genesis School, Christa House, Scleroderma Foundation, Pet Peeves, Long Island Works Coalition, and Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. This year's Fight For Charity was sponsored by OSI Pharmaceuticals and Zoom Wireless.
