The Long Island Hellcats Baseball team completed their Fall 2006 season on Oct. 29, winning four straight games against the Jericho Bulldog landing them in second place in the National Junior Baseball League (NJBL) 10-year old division. This team, created in Oyster Bay in the fall of 2005, is made up of 10 and 11 year old boys from the Oyster Bay area with the addition of a few star players from neighboring communities such as Plainview and Bethpage. The highlight of the season was a two-game sweep of the top rated Hauppauge Eagles in a 2-1, 5-3 victory. Pitchers Joe Mistron, Patrick Crowley and Max Manos combined their talents earning credit for this huge accomplishment.

In game one of their final two games, the boys came out swinging leading them to a 12-0 victory. Joe Nunziata pitched a 2 hit shutout while Steven DiSalvo led the hitting attack with a grand slam home run.

In the second game, the boys continued with lively bats winning 23-1. Strong pitching by Andy Galgano and Berkley Golon along with an ironclad defense held Jericho at bay. Cassidy Exum, Mark Stutzman, Matt Drexler and Pat Crowley all had multiple hits to run up the score. Patrick O'Brien singled, doubled and tripled and knocked in 5 RBI's. This strong hitting was capped by a grand slam by Berkely Golon to finish the game.
