The Oyster Bay Storm continue their winning ways by beating Hewlet Blue Strike 4 to 0 on Saturday. On Sunday, they won their state cup game giving them the right to continue by traveling to Lake George to face their next opponent in the search of the State Cup.
The Tornadoes beat Merrick Firebirds 4 to 0 at Vernon. The Tornadoes played a nice first half dominating the game but scoreless at the half. Melissa Albanese put an end to the scoreless half within two minutes of the second half, receiving a nice cross from Katrina Capiello, Melissa tapped it in the far post. This gives Melissa a three game goal-scoring streak.
Five minutes later, Katrina Capiello took the ball from midfield line, dribbled by three defensive players and took a shot from the left side for the Tornadoe second goal. Arden Etts delivered on a promise to the coach with a blast from the right side of the field after beating her defensive player to the goal. Marissa Matarese delivered the Tornadoe fourth goal of the game from a breakaway and a solid shot on goal from the left side of field.
