How Well Do You Know the Area? Do you know where this week's picture was taken? If you do, call the Enterprise-Pilot at 747-8282 and let us know. If you have a picture that you think might be interesting for others to guess, drop it off in our box at Raynham Hall Museum, 20 East Main St., Oyster Bay.

Pat Power called to say, "This week's picture (Sept. 28) is looking out from the WaterFront Center over toward the 9/11 memorial. I was there on 9/11." She added, "Fritz Coudert was pleased with the lovely article on the front page today."
Dulcie Fabbricante said, "The picture looks like the walkway that heads down to the waterfront. My husband (Tony) and I take walks in the park. That road goes past the Memorial to 9/11 and goes toward the beach. We walk there often. We have a two-mile walk we do several times a week."
Richard Okes of Bayville said, "The picture is looking down West End Avenue in Oyster Bay near the WaterFront Center."
Paul Racino said, "Actually the road goes toward the Nantucket where the sailing school is. You are looking east toward Huntington. On the left hand side, you are going toward Theodore Roosevelt Park."
Jack Hutchinson said, "It's down from the Beekman Beach area, looking northeast [he's a sailor so he knows his directions] where the flagpole is with the three flags, above the 9/11 Monument. The sidewalk goes down to the area where there is additional parking by the Town of Oyster Bay boat ramp."
He added, "I haven't been there in about a month but I like to walk through the village and to Beekman Beach. It's good exercise."
Belle Santoro called to say, "It's West End Avenue. That is the road going along the Western Waterfront. The picture is taken facing Roosevelt Beach, facing the entrance as you come into the park."
Billy Minicozzi called and made a good guess. He added, fall is on the way!
They are all great answers.
