Charles Gaulkin was a friend of the press as he spoke before the Oyster Bay Town Board members on Tuesday, Sept. 26. He asked Supervisor John Venditto some excellent probing questions.
Mr. Gaulkin ended his time before the board by saying: "It is not a very large park. The Main Street Association wants to promote business in the hamlet and has the naïve belief that a carousel in the park would bring customers to Oyster Bay stores. That is not a sufficient reason to destroy the quiet of the park. It would be better to have an overall plan for the eastern waterfront rather than tying a plan to a specific project such as the carousel."
We second his motion!
