Kips Bay Kids Enjoy 19th Annual Day with Mr. Fritz
Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Beth Faughnan attended the 19th annual Kips Bay Summer Camp outing, on Aug. 10, where children from the Boys & Girls Clubs in the Bronx and Oyster Bay-East Norwich (570 children) were invited to the home of the Kips Bay club president Fritz Coudert to enjoy a day of activities.

Cell Tower Looms on Lake Avenue
Lake Avenue is a small rural road in Oyster Bay that borders the Mill Pond. It is a pristine country road with trees along both sides and only a short stretch has sidewalks. The result is a unique environment. Last week, Brigitte Pajonk, a resident of Lake Avenue awoke to a new view out her window - a cell tower suddenly appeared in sight last week. She called the town on Tuesday, Aug. 8 but got no response. She called the Lake Avenue Yard and they said had been putting it together for two months.

Oyster Bay-East Norwich Soccer Club News
The Oyster Bay Raptors boys U-12 soccer team ran the table this spring going undefeated in the regular season and winning the Waldbaum's Cup, compiling a combined record of 14-0.The season was decided on the last game of the year when they handled the second place New Hyde Park Bengals 3-1. The next day shut down the Island Trees Bulldogs by the score of 3-0.

Legislators Join Red Cross Swim-A-Cross Team
Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (Woodbury) and Legislator Diane Yatauro (D-Glen Cove) joined the American Red Cross in Nassau County to help host the 17th Annual Red Cross Swim-A-Cross on Aug. 11. The event was again held at Oyster Bay Harbor at Centre Island Beach - this year looking very festive with a red and white striped tent to attract swimmers signing up for the event.
