Opinion

We have been hearing people say they like the idea of a portable ice skating rink being put in at the softball fields at Theodore Roosevelt Park. It would be used in the wintertime when local businesses could use a boost and it would be a place where local teens could go to recreate - and actually all ages could use the facility.

The idea gets interested nods from local residents and looks as if it will get their support.

We hope you will consider it and let us know. You can email us at dkarppi@antonnews.com or leave a voice message at 403-5104.

It is nice to get such a positive reaction from residents about an idea. It shows that the community is not closed minded, but that they know Oyster Bay and know what they want.

At least that is our opinion.
