We had a fax from Priscilla Ragusa saying the April 13 picture was the parking lot of Planting Fields Arboretum. That was a good enough guess and we are giving you the answer. It was the parking lot of Bailey's Arboretum in Locust Valley.
We received a voice mail from Norma Hays Klein of New Mexico, who said, "I recognized the mystery picture in the April 21 issue. It is the Oyster Bay High School Class of 1941 senior trip to Washington. Unfortunatley, I didn't go on that trip but I'm the first one on the top row of the class picture. I've been away from Oyster Bay since 1950. I read the paper every week on the computer and recognize many times the names and the people. I used to live on Pine Hollow Road and later on Berry Hill Road. Many thanks to the person who sent the picture and thank you for the memories and could you publish a street map?"
Billy Minicozzi recognized the picture in the April 27 issue as a house. Actually that mystery photo was also taken at Bailey's Arboretum of several buildings on the site, including a small hothouse.
Billy said on a sport's note: "Good luck to the Jets and Giants in the NFL drafts. On a local issue, he said, "Good luck to all the people running in school elections on May 16."
We also got a voice mail for the May 4 photograph, that said only, "That is my part of Beaver Dam," said Joanne from Texas.
That was good enough for us! It was taken at Mill Creek area, by Barry Lamb. The area is adjacent to Beaver Dam.
