Billy McNamara sent a fax saying, "This week's photo was taken at the foot of Steamboat Landing Road. It must have been taken last year because the harbor is frozen. I fished on that dock when I was a very young auto mechanic!"
This great photo was taken by Keith Kowalsky last winter.
Billy Minicozzi guessed it was a boat ramp on West Shore Road that needs to be repaired. He said on a sports note: "Good luck to the US Olympic teams in the winter Olympics in Torino, Italy."
We join him in wishing them great success. It was great to see the American team come into the arena on Friday night. They were alive and animated, a great bunch of Americans. It made us proud.
It was also great to see how the Italians honored women, with Sophia Loren leading the group of eight women who brought in the Olympic flag. During the evening they were playing all 1980s American songs. Thank you again Italy. And it was wonderful to hear Yoko Ono introduce the singing of Imagine by John Lennon as the Olympic Committee took on the cause of peace in the world highlighting how the teams from all over the world put down their differences and competed in sports. What a wonderful message to the world.
