Oyster Bay-East Norwich Board Seeks Community Input on Proposed Budget
Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District residents will head to the polls on May 16 to consider the proposed 2006-2007 school year budget. District administrative staff and the board of education held the first of several public meetings on Feb. 4 at the high school library to educate the public on the proposed budget and to also show the hard work they did to produce a conservative package. The focus of the full day meeting was to gain public input. There were about 60 people in attendance.
Oyster Bay Girls Fencing Team Are 2006 Nassau Champions
The Oyster Bay High School Girl's Varsity Fencing Team won the Nassau County Championship Saturday, Feb. 4 against three-time defending champs Great Neck North. The Lady Baymen completed a league season of 8 wins and 2 losses, which tied them in second place with Garden City.
Americans have not always been so concerned about cleaning up after their animal friends. Until recent times, people would let their doggies do their thing, and then left the doo on the streets, sidewalks, and often a neighbor's lawn. A small number of diligent citizens did make an extra effort to curb their dogs. However, the exercise of pooping in the street is not proper etiquette either.
