"It's a house on South Street across from Glen's Gulf Station while it was under construction. Now it's all done," said Charlie Schindler as he identified the mystery picture in the Jan. 12 Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot.
Paul Keller of Bayville called about the Jan. 12 mystery picture. He said, "It's taken from the Gulf gas station on South St. looking eastward at the building, but the building has been renovated since them. I hope I'm right and happy New Year!"
Billy Minicozzi said, "It's Friday the thirteenth. I hope you have good luck." He added the photo was a bunch of houses in Oyster Bay. "It's two houses away from the Oyster Bay Funeral Home." On a Bayville note he said the fire company got a bus to take the members to parades and drills. On a sports note he was looking forward to SuperBowl Sunday when the Giants will play the Carolina Panthers in Detroit. He wished everyone a good Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 16.
"The mystery picture is on South Street. I go to get my gas at the station across the street. They are doing a beautiful job on the building," said Mary Lou Cuccu.
"It's a photo of the new law offices being constructed on South Street across from the Gulf Station," said Oyster Bay resident Denis Siple. He has a son Alex who graduated from Oyster Bay High School and a son Christian who is still attending the school. "It's a beautiful building. The picture was taken while it was under construction. It's completed now. They did a wonderful job."
Island Properties owned the South Street real estate property and built it according to specifications of the owners. -DFK
