The Oyster Bay High School recently concluded its fall season with students participating on 17 teams in six different sports for girls and boys in grades seven through 12. The season was filled with many highlights and notable accomplishments.

The Varsity Girls teams in field hockey, soccer, cross country and volleyball all qualified for the playoffs with the Varsity Girls Volleyball team advancing to the Nassau County Class C finals and the Varsity Girls Soccer team making it to the finals of the Nassau County Class B. The field hockey team reached the Class B semifinals. The boys cross country team placed second in Nassau County Class C.

Several of the students were noted for their exceptional play on the field. Becky Kaplan was named All County in soccer. Kristen Serikstad for volleyball and Patrick Cobbsin for football received All County Honorable Mention. Jackie Henderson and Katelyn Collins were State Championship participants in girls cross country and the State Championship participants from the boys cross country team were Joe Jazwinski, Austin Huminski and Steve Celauro.

The following students were named All Conference in their sport: Ali Dando (volleyball); Joe Jazwinski, Austin Huminski and Steve Celauro (boys cross country); Jackie Henderson and Katelyn Collins (girls cross country); Liz DeMaria (field hockey); Jeff Bradke and Gerhard Zuniga (boys soccer); CJ Bergano (girls soccer); and Patrick Cobbs and Patrick Linden (football).

All Conference Honorable Mention was awarded to Erica Gridelli and Danielle Capozzoli in field hockey. Alejandra Huerano was named All Class in girls soccer. And, finally, Patrick Cobbs and Patrick Linden (football) and Nicole Brown and Melissa Burns (field hockey) were chosen to participate in the Exceptional Senior Game for their respective sports.

Off the field six teams garnered Scholar Teams Awards: girls volleyball, tennis and soccer, boys cross country, football and field Hockey. Individually, Jennifer Nastri in Volleyball, Alexandra Manfredi in Field hockey, Seanna Burke, girls soccer and Sean Igoe in football all won the Student Athlete Award.

On the seventh and eighth grade level: Coach Cotter referred to his 7/8 Grade Girls Cross Country as "the most successful girls team in the last 12-13 years." The 7/8 Grade Girls Cross Country squad concluded its outstanding season that featured multiple top 10 finishes in meets by Maria Moreno, Fionna Brunner, Chelsea Haggerty, Ali Smith and Paige Arfman. The Boys 7/8 Cross Country team also concluded a successful season with top 10 finishes by Brad Dillman, Joe Lacorte and Will Burke. The 7/8 Girls Soccer team finished the season with Kat Fressle doing a great job in goal and Andie Terzano and Sara Moxley anchoring the defense and timely goals by Keri Bongiovanni and Brie Ament.
