Hometown Holidays Happen in Oyster Bay
This year's Holidays in Oyster Bay parade was a real "hometown" event. Because of the defeat of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School budget and being on contingency the school district is not allowed to participate in any events outside the school. As a result the Oyster Bay Community Band and the Chamber Singers were not there to entertain the audience. Instead the local churches responded and created a combined choir of children from Christ Church, First Presbyterian and St. Dominic's. They sang old favorites a capella and the audience was asked to join in the singing. It made for a wonderful hometown Christmas for the community.

Polar Express Leaves OB RR Station For the Last Time on December 18
There is one more Sunday to enjoy seeing the Polar Express miniature train exhibit at the Oyster Bay Railroad Station on Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay. On Dec. 18 the ticket will be picked to find the winner of the Polar Express O gauge train set on display at the museum. The trains have been running on Sundays since Dec. 4.

Roughriders Peanuts Finish the Football Season Victorious
The frigid temperatures and relentless wind proved to be no challenge for the Oyster Bay Roughriders Peanuts football team the evening of Nov. 10. The team ended their season with a 14-7 win over the Seaford Stallions as their cheerleading squad braved the cold alongside them. After a disappointing loss to Roosevelt two weeks prior (MVPs Alex Gelabert and Rocco Ruggiero), the Peanuts emerged victorious this night to finish the season with an outstanding 5-1-2 record.
