Raymond T. Simons Sr., lifelong resident of Locust Valley, died on Oct.19, 2005 at age 87. Husband of the late Helen. Father of Raymond T. Jr. (Joanne). Grandpa of Dana, Tom and the late Corey Anne. Twin brother of Richard, and the late Irving, Andrew, James and Mary. Mr. Simons was the longtime owner of Simons Limousine Service. A WWII veteran, Army Signal Corps in North Africa and Italy. He was wounded by a land mine in Italy. This kind and gentle man will truly be missed. Reposed at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemtery.

James J. Curran, of Bayville, died after a year long battle with cancer on Oct. 20, 2005 at age 65. Husband of the late Marilyn. Father of Gwendolyn, Pamela (James), Merrilee (Thomas). Grandfather of Katie, Sasha, Sophie, Heidi, Dylan and the late Allison. Brother of Ellen, Mary and Peggy. Retired FDNY Lieutenant Rescue #1, instructor at FDNY Fire Academy and respected president of the New York Fire Fighters Burn Center Foundation for over 25 years. A friend and leader to many and a hero to all. Reposed at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment at Locust Valley Cemetery. Ismael Castro, 64, of Oyster Bay, died on Oct. 27, 2005. Husband of Tani. Brother of Juan (Juana). Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Cremation by LI Cremation Co.
