Oyster Bay Makes a Stand
Marching behind the Oyster Bay Preservation Group (OBPG) banner in the American Legion Independence Day parade was appropriate for people concerned with what has been happening in the village. The OBPG was formed in May of 1990 in response to the growing threat of demolition and change to the historic hamlet of Oyster Bay. It hoped to keep Oyster Bay's heritage alive.

DBSC Day at Belmont Park
Friends and supporters of the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center gathered at the Belmont Park's Garden Terrace restaurant for their annual benefit "A Day at the Races," held on Sunday, June 26. Everyone enjoyed the day's outing that benefited the center's programs. They sat in air conditioned comfort while watching the horses race around the Belmont track.

Oyster Bay's John Lovejoy Scores in LAR & Y's Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run
Congratulations to John Lovejoy of Oyster Bay, who scored as the 3rd place finisher in the very competitive 40-44 age group in the 8th annual Lazer, Aptheker, Rosella & Yedid Kings Park 15 Kilometer Run on Saturday morning June 18. John crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 2 minutes, 19 seconds, in 14th place overall and only 8 seconds in back of the second place finisher in his age group.
