OB-EN Budget Fails Again
When the budget defeat vote was announced on Tuesday, June 14, by Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District Board of Education President Robin Dando listeners were shocked and sad. Parent Tom Burke took the defeat personally saying, "It's my daughter's senior year. It's a bad day for the district. I realize the tax bite is high, but it's tough to lose. There was a lot of misinformation out there. We haven't been on austerity since I was a kid on split sessions."

OB-EN Budget Failure Stymies Efforts for Oyster Bay Lacrosse
The Oyster Bay School District's second proposed $41,340,224 budget was voted down on Tuesday June 14. The tally was 1209 votes for and 1312 votes against the budget. The budget would have increased spending by 6.48 percent and would have raised taxes by 6.29 percent.

Oyster Bay-East Norwich Soccer News
The Tsunami showed up to play Alburndale Celtic at Stony Brook soccer park with the game time temperatures reaching 88 degrees and humidity at around 90 percent, kickoff 12:45pm. The Celtic had been of OB-EN's revivals since the U10 lose to them 6-1. The boys had met them in our first LIJ game this season and lost 2-1 but this was the Waldbaums Cup Finals. The boys lost their final LIJ game on June 11 to the West Islip Tomcats looking past that game to the Sunday showdown with the Celtic.

Sagamore Soundings
On Saturday, June 16 Sagamore Yacht Club held the 6th annual Friends of the Bay Race. This race is one of the yacht clubs biggest events of the year. It is also a fund-raiser that brings in thousands of dollars to help both the Friends of the Bay and the Christeen Oyster Sloop. Sagamore chooses to help these organizations because they protect the environment and nautical history of Oyster Bay.
