Record Crowd Cheers Memorial Day Parade
Proud parents and grandparents and patriotic Americans lined the streets of Oyster Bay for Monday, May 30's annual Memorial Day Parade. Members of the Oyster Bay Lions Club and Oyster Bay Fire Company No. 1 handed out American flags to children along the parade route, which traditionally goes down South Street, turns east down East Main Street, north to Ship's Point Lane and reverses to arrive at the veteran's monuments in front of Town Hall West.

Slave Bible Unravels History
Two new discoveries about the slaves owned by the Townsend family - a historic family whose home at Raynham Hall in Oyster Bay is now a public museum - have changed people's understanding of the family and will be a welcome addition to Raynham Hall Museum's planned fall exhibit featuring the Townsend slaves.

Sagamore Soundings
Sailboat racing is in full swing at Sagamore Yacht Club. Racers were met with fairly steady wind on June 1, in Oyster Bay Cove. The race started at about 1830 hours with about 11-16 knots of wind from the southeast. This is enough wind for the novice sailor to handle and also keep the more experienced ones satisfied.
