Jack Hoyt called to say the mystery picture from Feb. 17, is "The pier at the WaterFront Center taken from Beekman Beach. It was probably taken at Oyster Festival time. The boat across from the Nantucket Lightship at the pier is the Gazella Philadelphia. Other wonderful tall ships have visited this year including: the Verdi; the Mirewald, an oyster schooner from Delaware; the Clearwater which is the Hudson River sloop; and the Pride of Baltimore, a wonderful topsail schooner from Baltimore."

Last week’s picture.

The photo was taken during the Oyster Festival, but it was taken from a LIRR passenger car as we returned to Locust Valley to pick up our car. The parking lot is the new one on West End Avenue at the Western Waterfront and not actually the Beekman Beach lot itself.
Jerry Raymon identified the mystery picture in the Feb. 17 issue as "the Beekman Beach parking lot looking out at the bay. I spent many years there as a lifeguard with the Town of Oyster Bay. I wish the town would open Beekman Beach again. It was strictly for Town of Oyster Bay residents. I have a lot of fond memories of it."
We received a voice mail message saying, "Good afternoon. This is Charlie Hagan, an ex-resident calling in reference to the mystery picture in the Enterprise Pilot on Feb. 18. That is Beekman Beach. I remember it well, before we moved to Cape Cod after many years in Oyster Bay. Good luck and bye now."
We really enjoy hearing from residents who have moved away. It is good to see that they continue to be interested in Oyster Bay.
We also received an email from Ralph Ceglia who emails us from Calabasas, California. He said correctly, the answer to the Feb. 10 picture is the Bayville Bridge.
