  • News: Bernstein's Home Center to Move

    Two houses came down at 26 and 30 Pine Hollow Road to create the site for the new location of Bernstein's Home Center. Lori Horowitz, COO of Northern Bay Management said it will be a bigger and updated place. "Lloyd Bernstein is a great guy to work with and it's going to be great for the town. It will be modern on the inside," she said. The final negotiations are still being completed and they will get started on building as soon as they can. "Lloyd knows what he wants," she said.   • Sports: Friends Academy Coach Receives NYS Coaches Recognition Award

    Friends Academy faculty member and coach, Marshall Lindner, received the Coaches Recognition Award for Nassau Zone's NY State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. This award is given to a coach who has been an outstanding leader in his profession. Marshall, who is Convener of the History Department, has coached both soccer and baseball at Friends for the past 20 years. During this time he and his teams have won numerous outstanding sportsmanship awards and championships. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Friends Academy Varsity Soccer Teams Win Sportsmanship Awards

    Friends Academy is extremely proud of its fall student/athletes. Competing in section VIII of the Nassau County Public School Athletic League, both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams were awarded their respective conference sportsmanship award. In addition, the boys team won the sportsmanship award for all of Nassau County. Playing for the Long Island Championship, both teams lost against Mattituck High School. FULL STORY
