August 1 was National KidsDay, a day for adults and kids to spend meaningful time together. Boys & Girls Clubs across the country planned parties, parades, and special events in celebration of this important day. Locally, the Boys & Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich, the Waterfront Center, and the Oyster Bay Anglers planned a day of fun for members and their families.

Families learned to fish with the Oyster Bay Anglers, and then boarded the famous Christeen oyster sloop to put their newly learned skills into practice. Boys & Girls Club members of all ages smiled as they proudly reeled in their fish. The day was topped off with a barbecue on Beekman Beach, where parents and children spent time laughing and playing in the sun. This annual KidsDay is a tradition in Oyster Bay which is a day devoted to our most precious resource - our children.
