Horsemen Question Expansion of Equestrian Center
Nassau County appeared before the Muttontown Village Board on Dec. 8 to present a proposal to enlarge the equestrian center in the Muttontown Preserve. The board announced at the Jan. 12 board meeting, that they would like more information on the proposal. Interested members of the equestrian community attended to hear the board's decision.
Landmarks Commission Meets January 29
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Town of Oyster Bay Landmarks Preservation Commission has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29. The meeting will be held in the Town Board Hearing Room, Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, beginning at 7 p.m.
WaterFront Center Staff, Volunteers, Board: Celebrate
The WaterFront Center hosted a holiday party at the home of board member Frinny Storrs during the December holiday season. It was a time to celebrate a year of great activities. "We wanted to thank all the people who worked at the WaterFront Center: all the volunteers, the staff and the board. We expected over 200 people to come, at one time," said Fritz Coudert, WFC board president. "It's a large group. The weather kept some people away. The oysters stayed home and the pearls came to celebrate!"
Little League Baseball in Oyster Bay Begins Its Second Season With Free Winter Clinics
On Saturday, Jan. 24, Little League Baseball will begin its second season in Oyster Bay starting once again with its popular Winter Clinics. Boys and girls from ages 5-12 are eligible to participate at the three Winter Clinics to be held on three Saturdays, Jan. 24, 31 and Feb. 14, at the Oyster Bay High School gymnasium. "We ran these clinics last year and the response was overwhelming!" said newly elected president of the Oyster Bay League Phil Robinson. "There were about 325 children who participated last year and based on the feedback we received, we had to schedule the sessions again for the new season."
