Richie Smith was the first caller to correctly identify the mystery picture. He said, "I work in the town's maintenance department in Town Hall and it's Theodore Roosevelt in front of Town Hall." Correct!
Jack Hutchinson called with more of the answer. "It's the statue of Theodore Roosevelt in front of Town Hall, taken after the big snowstorm. Under the big pile of snow to the right is the American Legion monument. That's where they moved it after taking it from the American Legion Hall site," he said. Yes!
"Is that the bust of TR on Audrey Avenue in front of town hall?" asked Beatrice Cardinal of Locust Valley. Right!
Billy Minicozzi called too, to say, "It's the bust of Theodore Roosevelt in front of town hall taken on a snow day." On a sports note, he said was happy the Yankees got a great hitter in Gary Scheffield, the nephew of Dwight Gooden. "I hope we have a white Christmas," he added.
