Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi invites everyone to lace up the skates and sharpen the blades for spectacular winter fun at Nassau County's two outdoor ice rinks at Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills and Grant Park in Hewlett.

Sessions: Seven days a week: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:15-3:15 p.m., 4-6 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Thursday and Sunday: 6:45 to 8:45 p.m.

Registration is ongoing for group lessons. Group classifications are: Tiny Tot (3-5), Beginner I (6-8), Beginner II (9-12), Advanced Beginner, Intermediate I and Intermediate II. Tuition will be $90 for six half-hour sessions. Classes will be held on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Registration is ongong for group lessons. Group classifications are: Tiny Tot (3-6), Child Beginner (6-10), Advance Beginner (7-12), and Intro to Power Skating (7-13). Tuition will be $60 for eight half-hour lessons on weekends or six 40-minute lessons on weekdays. Classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 1 to 5:10 p.m.

Private lessons are also available. Call respective park.

Ice rink fees for each two-hour session (or portion thereof) for Nassau County residents with Leisure Passports are $5 for adults, $3 for children (4-17) and $2.50 for senior citizens, veterans, persons with disabilities, volunteer firefighters and ambulance corps and auxiliary police. Children age 3 and under are admitted free with paying adult. Leisure Passports are required for anyone 13 years of age and over.

Guests are admitted to ice rinks only when accompanied by fee-paying adults with Leisure Passports. Guest fees are $10 per session for adults and $6 for children. Skate rental is $4 per session. Lockers are 25¢ per use, and skate sharpening is available.

Ice rinks will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. The rinks will be open through mid-March, weather permitting.

The Christopher Morley Park Ice Rink and the Grant Park Ice Rink are operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums. For general information about ice skating, call 516-572-0200.

Skaters of all skills are invited to enjoy the year-round excitement of Cantiague Indoor Ice Rink.

Public ice skating sessions are as follows: Mondays through Fridays: 10 a.m. to noon; seven days a week: 1-3 p.m., Fridays and Sundays: 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays: 9-11 p.m. Ice rink fees are $5 for resident adult, $3 for resident child, $10 for guest adult and $6 for guest child. The fee for seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans, volunteer firefighters and ambulance corps if $2.50. Leisure passports are required.

Group lessons are offered to persons age 4 to adult and all levels of achievement. Classes will be formed with a minimum of four students and a maximum of ten students per class. The program consists of eight half-hour lessons. Tuition will be $90 for children and $115 for adults. Lessons will be offered on Fridays from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Registration for classes beginning in January will be ongoing at Cantiague Park's Ice Rink lobby from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. Private lessons are also available, given during public sessions. Registration continues on a daily basis. Private lesson fee is $32.50 per half hour lesson, plus rink admission. Leisure passports are required to register for lessons. Birthday party packages are available.
