The Oyster Bay Titans boys U-12 team has a number of new things to adjust to this year. A new coaching staff was needed as Coach George Megalodas moved out of state. The U-12 program itself creates change as the team competes in a Nassau-Suffolk conference and the boys play 11 versus 11. The titans also welcome four new players to support the graduation to 11 vs. 11. They are Eric Helmick, Jonathan Leonardo, Duncan Lindsay and Christian Petersen. Petersen got started playing in the OBEN intramural program at age 5 had been playing for the North Shore Storm, Nassau's division III champions.
The 15 Titan players are still getting to know each other as they attend different schools. Their ranks are divided from Oyster Bay, Locust Valley, East Woods, Friends Academy, Our Lady of Mercy and St. Bernard's. They are Phillip Delakas, Hugo Francis, Kevin Grace, Chris Hatzis, James Hogg, Kabir Melwani, Chris Murdoch, Harry Micastro, Edward and William Piepont and Andy Rubio. The Titans have fought hard with most games within a goal. At 3-3-1 they will have an important game this week against the Lindenhurst Sharks. The Titans will train during the winter and look forward to the challenges of the spring season.
