John Amott Jr., 83, formerly of Oyster Bay, died on Nov. 17, 2003. A WWII veteran of the 9th Air Force, he was ex-chief of Oyster Bay Fire Co. #1 from 1949 to 1952. Husband of the late Catherine (McCourt). Father of John James (Maureen), Maureen Pizzo (Frank), Kathleen Jacques (Jeff), Wendy Windeler, Mary Lou Esposito (Lou), Rita Amott and Richard (Jodi). He was predeceased by his sons, Thomas (Ann) and William. Brother of Barbara Amott and Shirley Hanko. Grandfather of 20. Great-grandfather of 11.
