Alan Tebaldi, 2003 Haunted Firehouse Committee Chairperson, with committee members Rae Natale and Marie Barry.

The ghost and goblin volunteers of the Bayville Fire Company announce the opening of its Haunted Firehouse, now celebrating its 12th frightening year. Visitors will first arrive at Centre Island Beach, where they will be greeted and transported by bus to the Haunted Firehouse by goblins and ghosts, who will entertain them with their ghoulish antics and serve refreshments as they wait to enter. The entire firehouse will be transformed into an oasis of fright and surprises, where witches, ghosts, goblins, and other hair-raising creatures will abound. This year, there will be new and even scarier rooms of the house to visit to give visitors more fright and fun than ever.

The residents of the Haunted Firehouse invite guests to enter its doors (if they dare) beginning Friday, October 17. The Haunted Firehouse also will be open on Saturday October 18, Sunday, October 19, Friday, October 24, Saturday, October 25, Friday, October 31, and November 1. The visiting hours on Fridays are from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 each. Guests are recommended to be at least 10 years old.

The most successful fundraiser for the Bayville Fire Company, the Haunted Firehouse welcomes thousands of guests every Halloween season. About 150 dedicated and imaginative volunteers help make this event so popular with the public, including 90 people from within the Company and dozens of residents from within the communities it serves. Bayville's Haunted Firehouse was the first of its kind on Long Island, inspiring many other fire companies and organizations around the region to create their own.
