The East Norwich Civic Association will host a public forum on Nov. 18, to discuss the pros and cons of incorporation. Matthew Meng, ENCA president said he plans to invite experts to form a panel discussion. Members of the East Norwich Civic Association and Committee for the Beautification of East Norwich attended a meeting on Aug. 13, at the Lynbrook Village Hall held by the Nassau County Village Officials Association. VOA President Victoria Siegel, mayor of Bayville has as her agenda, helping villages become incorporated. The VOA invited unincorporated villages to attend a forum featuring Mayor Siegel, Warren Tackenberg, VOA executive director and Donna Gilberto, Esq., representing the New York Sate Conference of Mayors. Mr. Meng is inviting those same experts to speak at the Nov. 18 meeting, as well as Muttontown Mayor Richard Murcott and recently elected Oyster Bay Cove Mayor Ralph Potente.

Leonard Abbate of Bayville Returns From Serving in Iraq
Leonard Abbate of Bayville has returned from serving as a reservist with the Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 21, a Seabee unit out of Lakehurst, NJ. He is proud of the work his team did in Iraq, but he is also glad to be back.

18th Annual Town of Oyster Bay Tournament Keeps Its Sparkle
The annual Town of Oyster Bay Bluefish Tournament, held Sunday, Sept. 14, at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay, was a great "down home" event. It encourages sportsmen and brings out families to compete. It is a delightful end to the summer season. Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto summed it up saying, "The town's Bluefish Tournament is widely recognized as a great sporting event with wonderful prizes and excellent camaraderie. What could be better than hours of fishing followed by a 'tailgate' party with hot dogs, beverages, snacks, raffles, awards and prizes?"

This is the second year for the Roughriders Football League and the first year for their cheerleaders. "It's a new organization and we have a great following," said M.T. (Mary Theresa) Marolda.
