Preview the Oyster Festival at Sea
You can get a preview of Oyster Festival XX as the coastal schooner Phoenix visits Oyster Bay the weekend before the annual event. The Phoenix will be available for cruises, at the Waterfront Center during the Columbus Day weekend of Oct. 11, 12 and 13. The Oyster Festival traditionally takes place the weekend after Columbus Day.

The Waterfront Center invites volunteers to join them for International Beach Clean-up Day, the largest single volunteer event in the world, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Beekman Beach Saturday, Sept. 20.

Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club News
The first game of the Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer intramural season was scheduled to begin on Sept. 13 and we have weekly games through Nov. 8, with exception to Oyster Fest weekend on Oct. 18. Our fifth and sixth graders' program is still forming this year for boys and girls. If you have not yet signed up, we are still accepting registrations for these age groups. Monday Sept. 23 marks the start of our Individual Skills Training at Roosevelt Park. The sessions are conducted by professional trainers from the Lady Riders and focuses on developing ball-handling skills in intramural players from Pre-K through fourth grade. Please have your child wear their 2002-2003 uniform, shin guards and cleats. Don't forget to bring a soccer ball for these sessions.

Polo Benefit to Restore SUNY Stables
The Old Westbury College Foundation, Inc. welcomed 300 guests recently to its Second Annual Summer Polo Match and Lawn Party to benefit the restoration of the historic Clark Family Stables at SUNY College at Old Westbury. The event, which took place in the magnificent surroundings of Hickox Field in Old Westbury, raised more than $45,000.
