John Anthony DiFede, of Locust Valley, died on Aug. 3, 2003. Brother of Louis (Janet), Dominick (Jean), Angie Veroxie and George (Jean). Uncle of Debbie, Doreen, Danielle, George, John, Robert, Nicole, Laura and the late Peter and Louis. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Rocco. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Jayne C. "Honey" Tietjen (nee Beatty), of Locust Valley, died on Aug. 9, 2003. Wife of the late John R. Mother of Russell (Claire), Susan (Joseph) and the late Jay (Joanie). Gram of Jessica, Melanie, Rebecca and Amy. Sister of Miriam, Clare, Regina and the late Agnes and Rita. Sister-in-law of Jean (Mike) Dzamba. Also survived by her nieces, nephews and friends. Jayne worked in the Locust Valley Primary School for 36 years. She was a very special person who touched many lives. She will be forever missed. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of St. Patrick.

William P. Landers, of East Norwich, died suddenly on Aug. 7, 2003. He was a 50-year member of the East Norwich Volunteer Fire Co. and a retired line foreman with LILCO for 40 years. Husband of Doris. Father of Peggy (Dick) Pennington, Bill (Sandy), Lynda (Frank) Riolo and Tom. Grandfather of Christopher Flower, Frank Riolo, Mark and Ashleigh Landers. Brother of Bernie. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Firematic service at the funeral home. Religious service at the Community United Methodist Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Donations can be made to the East Norwich Volunteer Fire Co. or the Community United Methodist Church, East Norwich.

Frances A. Lanzaro (nee Kear), former resident of Oyster Bay, died on Aug. 11, 2003. Wife of the late George. Mother of Georgia (Bob) Sussi and Dolores (Seb) Ragusa. Grandmother of Christina, Georgia Lynn, Lauren, Michele, Kenneth and Jean. Great-grandmother of Alexandra, Andrew, Jacob and Lucas. Arrangements were made by the Oyster Bay Funeral Home. Blessing at St. Dominic's RC Chapel. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
