These teams play weekly competitive soccer in the Long Island Junior Soccer League.

The team practices are held twice a week for an hour and one half each and are held in the evenings at Roosevelt Park or Vernon School. In addition to the coaching staff the teams have professional trainers to further develop the players' skills.

If you are interested in watching travel soccer games, the home games are played at Vernon School on Saturdays and Sundays. Stop by to cheer your players on.

Our intramural program will kick off the Spring season on Saturday, April 5 for the Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten children and on Sunday, April 6 for our first through fifth graders.

The children have been practicing their skills during many practice sessions with their coaches. The more determined players have been practicing indoor at Vernon and East Woods Schools throughout the winter months.

Due to the great success of our winter clinic, the Soccer Club is sponsoring a weekly training session open to all of our intramural children. The training session will be held on Mondays from 4-7 pm at Roosevelt Park.

Please bring your child down with an OBEN uniform. Pre k and K from 4-5 p.m., first and second grade from 5-6 p.m. and third and fourth grade from 6-7 p.m. Players from the Long Island Lady Riders professional team will be training our children.

Weekly results are published in the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot weekly, they can also be seen at obensoccer.org our very own website.

The Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer Club is approaching the last weekend of play. The final games will be held on Saturday, June 14. Please contact your coach if you need information on the schedule. The club will be accepting additional registration applications for fall 2003 and spring 2004 seasons until June 30. Additional information and registration forms can be located on the web at www.obensoccer.org.

On June 7 and 8 our club had several teams at the prestigious Sachem Tournament. The results are available for the second grade boys team who played a tough series of games in treacherous conditions. Unrelenting rain that turned the field into a river and the goalie boxes into mud added to the excitement. Keegan Petersen who played keeper coordinated an unstoppable defense and scored as forward. Matthew DelRosso was unbelievable playing forward. He powered his way through lines of defenders on breakaways to punch in several goals. Kevin Rubio the OBEN center striker punished the competition with several goals and lightning fast charges into scoring range. Kyle Cartwright stayed focused and determined throughout the games, turning away defenders at fullback and driving toward the goal at forward. Alec Chiappone was unstoppable on the field. Alec played midfield providing crisp defense and outstanding offense. Brian Levchuck opened up scoring opportunities for the team on offense quickly responding to the opposition's strategies and finding some incredible passing opportunities. Zak Cangemi was intense as forward, goalie, and defender playing through several minor injuries, constantly challenging the other teams. Quinn McQuade had a great day as fullback reacting quickly to any attempt by our opponents to get past midfield. Brian Kowalczyk played a tough game as fullback keeping attackers out of scoring range with several powerful tackles. Congratulations to the Oyster Bay Second Grade Tournament Team.
