Anton Newspapers Supports Nassau County
Anton Community Newspapers is a sponsor of the "Horses of a Different Color" fundraiser for Nassau County. Proceeds of the project, coordinated by the Nassau County Sports, Entertainment & Tourism Commission and OTB Nassau Downs, will be used to help rebuild the infrastructure of Nassau County's parks and recreational facilities and benefit a New York Racing Association charity.

Main Street Struts Its Stuff
Last year the Main Street Association's annual meeting was a quiet event with friends. This year it was evident the group has a lot more friends shown by the increased attendance at the meeting. It included members from many of the organizations they have been working with including the Waterfront Center, the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Arts. The work they have been doing behind the scenes is beginning to come to fruition and they are making a splash on the Oyster Bay streetscape. On Wednesday, June 4, at the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center Jerritt Gluck, MSA president quoted famous anthropologist Margaret Mead as saying, "Never doubt that a small group of citizens can change the world: I believe that is the only way anything ever has or ever will."

'Bay Day' Was 'Fun Day' for Everyone
Bay Day proved you can have as much and maybe even more fun in the rain than you can in sunshine. Bay Day, June 7 was overcast and rainy but that was only an outside manifestation as the WaterFront Center hosted the event held on the western waterfront: Beekman Beach and the former Jakobson Shipyard site.

Oyster Bay East Norwich Soccer News
The OBEN spring soccer season is underway for our 10 travel teams. Since the fall season ended, most teams participated in indoor soccer leagues during the winter. Other teams competed in various indoor tournaments throughout Long Island.
